Safeskies 2024 focused on the theme of “Safety Collaboration.” Across the aviation sector—from legacy systems to emerging technologies—there was impressive safety work being done, though often in isolation, with limited cross-communication. As Australia’s only independent aviation safety advocate, Safeskies uniquely positioned itself to bridge these gaps, fostering opportunities for true safety collaboration and connecting the dots across the industry.

This year, Safeskies introduced an exciting new format. Day one featured popular elements from past conferences, including insights from aviation agency leaders. The conference dinner and the prestigious Sir Reginald Ansett Memorial Lecture also took place on the first evening. Day two broke new ground with an interactive approach, offering delegates greater involvement and engagement.

Over the two days, attendees heard from top international and Australian aviation safety experts. Topics spanned airline operations, recreational and uncrewed aviation, advanced air mobility (AAM), the space sector, and more. The event offered unparalleled networking and thought leadership at Canberra’s iconic Hyatt Hotel.
